5-day, guided 4x4 overland expedition from the glaciers of the high Alps to the Mediterranean Sea. Probably the best off-road mountain adventure by far, following some of the longest stretches of dirt roads in the Alps - a 'must do' for overland enthusiasts.

Starting from the dizzy heights of the glaciated Alps, we'll take you on a simply incredible and completely unique, off-road adventure through the Italian/French Alps, all the way down to the Mediterranean coast. A journey that takes you to the wild and unspoilt regions of the Western Alps - to places only easily reached by 4x4.
If you want adventure, excitement and a strong sense of discovery, this is a chance to get off the beaten track and experience remote and sparsely populated areas of the Alps. Nature at its best for those who dont mind a bumpy ride. |

Day 1: Arrival.
Day 2: EXPEDITION DAY 1 - circuit of glaciers and high Alpine forts.
Day 3: EXPEDITION DAY 2 - strada dell'Assietta and the western Alps.
Day 4: EXPEDITION DAY 3 - grand tour of the Cozie Alps.
Day 5: EXPEDITION DAY 4 - Mercantor National Park and the old Salt Road.
Day 6: EXPEDITION DAY 5 - from the clouds to the Riviera.

Day 1: Day of arrival - meet in the upper Susa valley to the west of Turin.
We will all meet in one of the areas charming ski resorts for the start of the off-road adventure.
Day 2: Expedition Day 1 - CIRCUIT OF GLACIERS AND HIGH ALPINE FORTS.
Mission for our first day is to reach a glacier lake at 3000m in the morning and an old military fort at over 2800m in the afternoon.

Day 3: Expedition Day 2 - STRADA DELL'ASSIETTA AND THE WESTERN ALPS.
Today we commence our journey south along one of the longest military roads in the Alps, high above the ancient trails of Hannibal.

Day 4: Expedition Day 3 - GRAND TOUR OF THE COZIE ALPS.
We continue south through some of the most sparsely populated areas of Italy and the Alps. For many, is really one of the most magnificent and unique areas of the entire Alps. Many parts along this route are like a mini Dolomites and for hours not a single village or signs of man.

Day 5: Expedition Day 4 - MERCANTOR NATIONAL PARK AND THE OLD SALT ROAD.
Most of our journey today will be above 2000m and the trails are rough and arduous, amongst towering 3000m peaks as we straddle the Italian/French border. Magical overnight stay in one of Europes few true 'black spots' from where you can gaze into the endless milky way.

Day 6: Expedition Day 5 - FROM THE CLOUDS TO THE RIVIERA.
Dramatic morning drive through dense forests to an eerie, abandoned ski resort, from where we climb to perhaps the highest standing statue of Christ in the Alps, overlooked by military fortifications that dominate the entire mountainscape. Afternoon criss-crossing the border as we slowly descend through the olive groves to the coast.
Day 7: Day of departure - from the coast near Ventimiglia on the Italian Riviera.
